Speak Gently (Poem Summary)


 In this poem unknown poet advises us that we should converse with gentle and polite words to everyone. Such mild and soft words create love and kindness. The words full of love have power to win the heart of all, where as harsh and unkind words give birth to hatred. The poet suggests treating children in a gentle and polite way. By doing, so one is sure to gain love and respect from children in return. The poet further advises that the aged people should also be treated kindly. We must not hurt their feelings and make them sad. They have reached the end of their life, so we should allow them to live and leave this world in peace. In the end, the poet tells us that speaking gently is a very little thing but the greatness of this quality is that we enjoy its fruits not only in this world but we are also rewarded in life after death.
